It had to happen. Federer couldn't have blown away this gift. He just had to win the French. He just had to be 4th time lucky. What with the two best clay courters playing today, Novak and Rafael out of the way in the span of two days. But the going wasnt in anyways easy, Fedex looked rusty and under pressure all through the tournament except the finals. He looked down and out against the classy Haas and was in and out of it against Del Potro. But what I have come to realize is its not easy beating Federer in 5 sets, unless you are Nadal of course. Federer has too much variety and class against the other players and he just can switch to the next gear when needed. His service worked big time and kept him in the game throughout.

All said and done, Roger Federer deserves this as much as Agassi did 10 years ago. And this kind of makes Wimbledon and the rest of the year interesting. If Nadal is fit, we could be in for another mouth-watering Wimbledon final.Touchwood.
